Rosebud Schneider is a manager at Ziibimijwang Farm, owned by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians and located near the Mackinac Straits.
Little Traverse Bay Bands created Ziibimijwang Farm in large part to help achieve food sovereignty and expand the use of traditional foods. “You can’t call yourself sovereign unless you grow your own food,” says Joe Van Alstine, Chair of Ziibimijwang's board.
Groundwork has partnered with LTBB in areas of food access and food education.

Program to make choosing healthy food easier
Groundwork is partnering with the Health Department of Northwest Michigan (HDNWM) on a Building Healthy Communities program to make healthier food choices easier to make and ultimately impact our communities by reducing the incidence of chronic disease.
Senators’ Clean Energy Summer School: Class No. 1
As you heard from us last week, the Michigan Senate headed for summer recess without voting on two bills that would harm renewables and energy efficiency. Many senators said that SB 437 and 438 were too big and complicated to vote for without taking a good look at them first.
Groundwork attracts business support for Line 5 campaign
On May 31, Groundwork and the National Wildlife Federation Great Lakes Regional Center (NWF) hosted a Line 5 Business Reception at the Chippewa Hotel on Mackinac Island to coincide with the start of the Detroit Chamber of Commerce Mackinac Policy Conference the next morning.
