There’s a clear demand in the region for a marketing agency to promote local food, but is Groundwork the right place for such commercial work? Could TLD be viable as a self-sustaining business? Now, after two years of intense planning and collaboration with partners, it’s clear the answer is a resounding YES.
If you like clean energy, you won’t like the two energy bills the Michigan Senate Energy & Technology Committee sent to the floor on May 25. And you really won’t like them if you want more competition among utilities, more renewable energy from your utility, and the freedom to make solar energy on your property.

Benzie County homeowners who are seriously considering adding solar panels to their homes are invited to a League of Women Voters forum highlighting a new, locally based campaign called Groundwork Shines that makes going solar easy and financially attractive.
As we all work to build resilient communities with strong local food economies as part of the core, we’ll find no finer examples than I saw at last week’s Great Lakes Intertribal Food Summit. And the food, oh the food!
